Our Services
Empowering children to thrive through tailored support and skill development.
Life Skills Development
We provide activities to enhance independence and decision-making skills. Also working through Independence Modules and actively listening to the Young People about what 'they' want and how we can help them achieve it.
Emotional Support
Offering constant support and guidance, to build positive relationships and self-awareness. Allowing the Young Person to never feel alone or like they have no one to turn to.
Where possible, we want to help to achieve any potential steps towards building positive and safe family relationships and bonds. When this is not possible, we can offer emotional support and help the Young Person try to understand 'why'. We also have links with other Professional Bodies within the local and wider community with whom we can liaise with - meaning referrals or additional services can be accessed.
Educational Programs
Structured support to help Children and Young People discover their potential and interests. This is done through Support Sessions with their Support Worker, liaising with Local Authority and any other outside agencies involved. Regular Review Meetings take place, to ensure that progress is being made and can also be an opportunity to address any areas of concern - a chance for both Professionals involved and our Young People to voice their views. Our Staff Team ensure that constant encouragement is provided to guide our Young People in discovering their passions and how to get to that next step of developing them.
Our Support Packages
Empowering Children & Young People to develop independence skills in preparation for the life skills they will need to make their first steps into adult life and build positive relationships.
Life Skills
We provide individualised Support Plans to enhance independence skills and positive decision-making. We believe in helping to guide our Young People in developing new skills, helping them develop more and achieve future goals.
This includes;-
- Cooking
- Cleaning
- Money & Budget Management
- Recognising, Creating & Maintaining Positive Relationships
- Looking after Mental & Physical Health
- Encouraging & Promoting Education - in whatever shape it may take.
All our individualised Support Plans work through these steps and they focus on the best way to deliver them to each Child & Young Person - so they can discover more about themselves and their goals.
The Children & Young People in our care are of paramount importance to us and are at the very heart of our company. We want them to have the best oppurtunities, outcomes and also enjoy their time with us. Having new experiences, building new relationships and enjoying everything Potteries Care have to offer. This includes monthly activities for each Young Person, group activities and experiences, multiple larger scale activities throughout the year or reaching out to educate and give experience of different cultures and religious festivals - for everyone to try.
Support Services
Our team of Staff are fully focused around providing guidance and support for building healthy relationships and self-development, whilst working closely around the Independence Modules provided by Local Authority.
We have close relationships with various external agencies in the local and wider areas, including various forms of Counselling (CAMHS) and other types of therapeutic approach, including Art and Animal Therapy.
We also have access to other outside agencies, when appropriate, to find the right approach to facilitate specific Young Peoples' needs.
Alongside this, we also provide and collaborate with the local and wider community to facilitate ongoing and additional support, based around cultural integration and language needs - such as Language Line, ASHA, Amity Hub and our own additional 'Learning Pack' (to serve as an extra learning tool for our UASC Young People to use whilst they are awaiting for a place available at college, or to use in addition).
Our packages are readily available to access for young people with varying needs and can be individualised for all Young People. We are currently in the process of creating category 4 and 5 HMOS's with 24 hour staffing (also with varying hours for our category 4's). We currently offer Shared Accommodation, Dual or Solo Placements and if requested, additional Floating Support for ages 16-18, and if required age 18+.
We are dedicated to carefully aligning the right Support Worker from our team, to ensure the best possible match to a Young Person's unique needs and preferences, alongside having their Individualised Support Plan in place.
